This year one of our notable winners is a Stanmore Bay home that won gold – on a tight budget Thomas and Caitlin Weston engaged Sentinel to build their first home on a small section in Whangaparaoa.
“For us, the award represents what we already knew: Sentinel Homes has built us a high-quality home that is a testament to the hard work, knowledge and industry experience of their team,” says Thomas.
“We chose to build with Sentinel because of their end-to-end project management and transparency throughout the process. They've also fostered relationships with the best contractors and suppliers, meaning that every bit of work done on our place was a textbook example of quality craftsmanship.”
When South African migrant Christie Clark and her family approached Sentinel, they’d never owned a home in New Zealand, and due to financial restrictions didn’t think it would be possible. But, Sentinel pulled out the stops, getting Christie and her family the finance they needed in the eleventh hour. Their Stanmore Bay home won silver at the 2018 awards.
In perhaps the ultimate testament to Christie’s faith in the company, she now works for Sentinel Homes as the NorthWest office manager.
This prestigious competition celebrates building excellence in New Zealand. It awards the best homes built during the past year, as well as the builders behind them.
Gold Award winners from the Auckland region will now be judged against golds from around the country to find the National Gold Reserve finalists.
National category winners and the Registered Master Builders Supreme Awards for House of the Year and Renovation of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner on 24 November at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland.
