The clients knew exactly what they wanted in their new home. It had to be simple, modern and designed to include plenty of space for the kids, storage and entertaining – poky or cramped rooms were out of the question. The result: a 242sqm home with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living spaces. It feels like an awful lot of house, which is thanks to the skilled design team at Sentinel Homes. This was enhanced by the materials and finishes chosen by the clients and the interior designer. As a result of this collaboration, the desired look was achieved, and the budget met. With this build so close to the maunga it was important to keep things cosy. You’ll find a passive layout, increased insulation, low-e glazing and a free-standing wood burner. The kitchen, with a walk-in pantry, has stone benchtops, monochrome tiles and glass pendants above the island. The main bedroom has a large walk-in robe and ensuite. You’ll find a free-standing tub for the kids in the clean fresh family bathroom. Level-entry sliding doors seamlessly connect the main living spaces to vast timber decking. The laundry and double garage, with attic, provide storage.
